Since the 1960s, Jack Zajac has created sculptures focused on the movement of water.
His initial inspiration came when he saw a frozen river while traveling by train through Connecticut. Falling Water, Santa Cruz VIl is meant to evoke the strength and gracefulness of water in motion. Both abstract and representational, the sculpture also represents organic forms and forces of nature, while simultaneously suggesting a female figure.

This sculpture is part of an ongoing series Jack Zajac calls Falling Water. The spare, elegant imagery is inspired by the free flowing action of a waterfall and is meant to be evocative of water in motion.
