SFO Museum’s Video Arts program provides visibility to a range of contemporary artists and filmmakers who are at the leading edge of their craft. From short-form documentaries and narratives, to experimental films and all forms of animation, Video Arts brings you the thought-provoking, innovative work of today’s filmmakers.
This gallery is located pre-security on the departures level of International Terminal with daily operating hours of 8:00am to 10:00pm.
SFO Museum reviews exhibition proposals from artists and filmmakers on a rolling basis. Video Arts is currently programming four new films each month that are 20 minutes or less in duration. Due to our operation in a public space, Video Arts does not program work that features overt sexual or violent content. Those who are interested in participating may submit their work via our online form, here.
Black History Month
Join us in celebrating Black History Month at SFO! Oakland-based filmmaker Celia C. Peters guest curated this month’s selection of films, from a striking portrait of a professional Black ballet dancer to a compelling animation that explores an unlikely hero’s journey into his own memories. Two endearing narratives, including a young man who battles his compulsions on his way to school in New York City, and a young girl who finally tears herself away from her cell phone, enabling her to have an unexpected experience, are also on view this month. SFO Museum’s Video Arts program is honored to share these poignant stories.
