OUR SCREENING ROOM IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED
In the interest of protecting the health of our visitors, the Video Arts screening room has closed to the public until further notice. We will post any updates to operating hours on this page. In the meantime, our virtual screening room remains open while we present themed programming from our archives that we hope will, at least momentarily, take the edge off of our collective cabin fever. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Museum’s exhibition sites again soon.
With actual face-to-face interaction limited by this public health crisis, many of us are missing that human connectivity that is so crucial to our happiness. These four artists work across film genres to share stories of meaningful connections—a shy teen’s victory over self-consciousness in his search for acceptance; the resilience of human connection in the face of memory loss; the courage of a young boy to reach out to the object of his affection; and a reminder from the heart of New York’s Greenwich Village that community is often found in unlikely places.
