SFO Museum’s Video Arts program provides visibility to a range of contemporary artists and filmmakers who are at the leading edge of their craft. From short-form documentaries and narratives, to experimental films and all forms of animation, Video Arts brings you the thought-provoking, innovative work of today’s filmmakers.
This gallery is located pre-security on the departures level of International Terminal with daily operating hours of 8:00am to 10:00pm.
SFO Museum reviews exhibition proposals from artists and filmmakers on a rolling basis. Video Arts is currently programming four new films each month that are 10 minutes or less in duration. Due to our operation in a public space, Video Arts does not program work that features overt sexual or violent content. Those who are interested in participating may submit their work via our online form, here.
Pride Month
Join us in celebrating Pride Month at SFO—from a film reflecting on four individuals’ unique experiences at Pride celebrations, to a dance film set in San Francisco that centers around the beauty and normalcy of queer intimacy. Other films include a portrait of queer icon and musician Vincint Cannady, and a short documentary following a nonbinary aspiring nurse from China who is striving to build a gender-affirming life in rural Iowa. SFO Museum’s Video Arts program shares four distinctive LGBTQ stories that demonstrate the universal importance of love, kindness, acceptance, and tolerance.
