Pacific Mail Call: The Jon E. Krupnick Aerophilatelic Collection

Over eighty examples of historic airmail envelopes, called flight covers, have been selected from the collection of Pan Am historian and author Jon E. Krupnick to celebrate the adventurous aerial expeditions, military experimental flights, and pioneering contract mail service in the early days of Airmail flight cover carried by U.S. Navy Commander John Rodgers in 1925Pacific aviation. Included is a 1925 flight cover carried by Commander John Rodgers, USN, on the first California to Hawai'i flight attempt. This flight cover was unknown until discovered in 1979. Scale model aircraft of the period created by Jim Lund are also displayed.
