For over thirty years, photography has been a prominent part of SFO Museum’s programming. Hundreds of exhibitions have been shared with millions of travelers in dedicated galleries throughout the terminals. These exhibitions feature local, national, and international photographers at all career stages. Their works span experimental, conceptual, and traditional approaches, covering diverse genres from photojournalism and documentary projects to constructed imagery. Given the Bay Area’s pivotal role in the history of photography, SFOM places particular emphasis on highlighting local photographers, both past and present, as well as subjects rooted in the region and California more broadly. This commitment acknowledges the area’s significant legacy while reflecting the creative energy and diversity that continues to characterize its cultural landscape today.

SFO Museum reviews exhibition proposals from photographers and artists working with photography on a rolling basis. Please submit your proposal via our online form, here.
