Research Services

The Aviation Library and Archive Collection is available to the public for research by appointment on a case-by-case basis. Holdings include over 8,000 books, 600 periodical titles, and 109,000 archival objects related to aeronautics dating from the eighteenth century to the present. With the primary focus on commercial aviation, collection strengths include airport development, airline history, and airplane manufacturing. The archive houses company newsletters and publications, technical manuals and drawings, promotional materials and ephemera, oral histories, and photography. The collection is non-lending and non-circulating; appointments are available to researchers with a specific focus of study. Requests for photocopies and/or scans incur fees. Library use and research assistance is available by appointment only, 10:00am to 3:30pm, Sunday through Friday.
